Renovation steps

Every bathroom we renovate follows the same proven sequence, carried out by our own team of plumbers, tilers and electricians. Each stage is checked before the next begins, so nothing is covered up until it has been tested.

  1. 01

    Protecting your home

Before work begins, we protect the floors, stairs and the route to the bathroom.

  2. 02

    Strip-out

The existing suite, tiles and fittings are removed and stored safely on site, ready for collection as the job nears completion. With the room stripped back, we inspect the walls, floor and pipework, and raise anything that needs attention before work continues.

  3. 03

    First fix plumbing and electrics

Our plumbers install new supply and waste pipework to suit your new layout. At the same stage, our electrician runs the cabling for lighting, the extractor fan and any electric shower.

  4. 04

    Pressure testing

Before any wall is closed in, every new joint and connection is pressure tested. Any issue is found and fixed now, not after the tiles are on.

  5. 05

    Preparation

Walls and floors are prepared, with tile backer board where needed, to give a solid, level, moisture-resistant base.

  6. 06

    Tanking and waterproofing

Our tiler applies a full tanking system to the shower and bath areas, sealing every corner, joint and pipe entry. This is what protects your home from leaks for years to come, and it is left to cure fully before tiling begins.

  7. 07

    Tiling and grouting

Walls and floors are tiled to your chosen layout, carefully set out so cuts are balanced and lines run true, then grouted and sealed.

  8. 08

    Second fix plumbing and electrics

Our plumbers fit and connect your toilet, basin, bath or shower, taps and towel rail, and test everything under normal running. Our electrician fits the lights and extractor fan and tests every circuit.

  9. 09

    Finishing and handover

Silicone sealing, final adjustments and a thorough clean. We then walk you through the finished bathroom, check every detail with you, and leave it ready to use.
